A search was underway Tuesday after a bank robbery on Route 125 in Lee. Police said no weapon was shown, but the thief said he may have one. Police used dogs and drones to search a large area of ​​woods near the bank. Lee Police, New Hampshire State Police and the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office participated in the search. A national police helicopter was used to search the scene. In an alert sent to Lee residents, officers warned people to be on the lookout for a white male in the Lee roundabout area. Police said the man was 6ft tall and weighed around 190lbs. In the bulletin, police said the man was wearing a black hoodie with what appears to be a Patriots logo, white shirt, hat, blue horizontal striped tie, face mask and goggles. Police said the man may have facial hair. Locals said they never suspected something like this would happen in their close-knit neighborhood. “I saw a soldier on my way home a few yards from my house, so I asked the police what was going on and they told me,” neighbor Holly Wolfe said. “So when I walked into my house, checked all the doors, closets, kids rooms, basement. It’s annoying, for sure.” Wolfe said his property was part of the search and police continued to search the wooded area. Anyone with information was asked to call Lee police at 603-659-5866.

The Northeast Credit Union was robbed just after 11am and the thief is believed to have fled on foot. Police said no weapon was shown, but the thief said he may have one.
