Delaware State Police are investigating a bank robbery in the Newark area on Friday afternoon.

On June 17, 2022 at approximately 1:43 p.m., soldiers responded to the Wells Fargo bank located at 2450 Glasgow Avenue for an alarm activation. When they arrived, it was discovered that the bank had just been robbed and the suspect had fled. The ensuing investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank and presented a teller with a demand note. The cashier handed the suspect money, and the suspect exited the building and left the area in an unknown direction to an unknown destination. No one was injured in this incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’00 inches tall and of average build. Soldiers were unable to locate the suspect and no further description is available at this time.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is currently investigating the incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective R.
