High Country Bank and the Board of Directors announce the promotion of Niki Stotler to Chief Executive and Chairman of High Country Bank. Stotler’s career with High Country Bank spans 21 years and during her tenure she has become an integral part of all aspects of banking operations as well as the community.

In her new role as CEO, she brings a unique perspective that results from her multiple roles as a banker. This insight gives him the leadership ability to build a strong collaborative culture that positively impacts clients. As Chairman of the Bank, Stotler will serve on the Board of Directors of High Country Bank and High Country Bank Corp.

Stotler moved to Salida in 2001 and began working with the bank as a mortgage loan processor. During her two decades at High Country Bank, she held numerous positions in underwriting, mortgage servicing management and, most recently, chief operating officer. In addition to her practical experience, Stotler completed the three-year program at the University of Colorado Graduate School of Banking and was accepted into the Executive Development Institute, a 19-month program beginning in October. High Country Bank is the lending leader in Chaffee County and Stotler is focused on continuing that success.

Regarding her approach to leadership, Stotler says she will focus on “creating a culture of stability and opportunity for employees by encouraging collaboration and communication.” She is passionate about community banking and maintaining a culture of responsiveness to customer and community needs.

“High Country Bank began in 1886 as the first state-chartered financial institution and from our beginnings we have been a community bank,” says Stotler. “Now we are entering a new era of moving forward and are open to new ideas and perspectives on how to improve our communities.”

While the core of customer-centric, community-focused banking will remain the same, High Country Bank looks to the future.

“We want to continue to be the bank of choice and we will always make our decisions with the best interests of our customers at heart,” she said.

To continue on this path, High Country Bank seeks to provide enhanced online tools, create additional banking services for customers, and connect businesses and entrepreneurs. Under new leadership, High Country Bank is committed to continuing to invest in the communities served by High Country Bank.

Chairman of the Board, Tim Glenn, said, “We are delighted to have Niki (Stotler) as CEO and President. She brings a wealth of experience, a passion for service and a positive energy to drive High Country Bank into the future. As a natural leader, Niki has the insight and skills to innovate and continue to deliver responsive and personalized financial services to all of our branches. »
