Transfer News: Conor Gallagher, loaned to Chelsea, on PSG radar

According to transfer information on SunSport, PSG are interested in signing Chelsea lender Conor Gallagher for a possible transfer in January or summer.

The youngster is currently on his fourth loan from Stamford Bridge and is starting to take flight and strut. He was arguably one of West Bromwich Albion’s best players in the league last season, but few could have predicted a similar outcome for him at a top club which has seen a massive exodus this summer and has named a new manager.

Gallagher has scored six goals and provided three assists in 17 league appearances this season. Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the midfielder, while the player himself has admitted that he plans to fight for a spot in the Blues’ midline once he returns to Stamford Bridge.

However, PSG now want to ruin these plans. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is an admirer of the Chelsea player and wants to bring him to the French capital. A deal in January is unlikely due to the terms of his loan deal, but a permanent transfer could still take place in the winter window. But the French giants will also consider a summer move if they can’t orchestrate one this month.

No chance!

The Blues have landed several young talents this season. Fikayo Tomori made his transfer to AC Milan permanent, while Marc Guehi and Tino Livramento also made deals with their childhood club. Batting duo Armando Broja and Tammy Abraham have also left the West London club.

However, it is important to remember that Marina Granovskaia put in place a buyout clause for Livramento and Abraham. We can always bring Guehi back, as long as it matches the fees offered by a potential buyer in the future. Broja is also only on loan at Southampton.

Thus, Chelsea clearly do not want to lose their young starlets. Gallagher may be the squad’s pick right now and given our current situation he could have been brought back in January even without certain conditions of the one-season loan deal at the South London club. Nonetheless, he’s developing well under Patrick Vieira and a season of top-level action will do a lot of good for us and for him.

More news about Chelsea

PSG can try themselves as much as they want and throw in the big paycheck as they often do. But Granovskaia would surely be unwise to sell one of our best academy products of the current generation to make a quick profit. The 21-year-old England international is here to stay, at least until the summer, and given his current progress, it won’t be a surprise if he plays a pivotal role in helping us win major titles. next season.

But for that, we have to make the situation appropriate for him to want a future here too. It wouldn’t be realistic of us not to give him departures or a deserved contract and then want him to be with us. Therefore, Chelsea should take this apparent interest from PSG as a warning sign and take action if they want Gallagher to be on the bridge in the long term.
